The Campus TA Training was created by Teaching and Learning Services to offer Teaching Assistants an opportunity to develop the tools and teaching skills they need to carry out their tasks, and coach their students in such a way that they feel responsible for and take the lead in their own learning processes.
Training details:
Dates: 2 July (9:30 -12:30), 26 August (14:00 - 17:00) or 4 September (9:30 - 12:30)
Set-up: This training consists of two parts. One part is online (in Brightspace) and one part is face to face.
Study load: 7 hours in total (4 hours preparation online, and a 3 hour training session).
Target audience: Teaching Assistants and faculty members who train teaching assistants.
Description: The online part of the training in the Brightspace environment contains practical information, didactic knowledge and assignments organised into modules for TAs to familiarise themselves with the topics, theory and skills covered in the training. These skills will be practiced and discussed in the face to face session.

- support student motivation and create a safe study environment in which students can thrive;
- stimulate student learning by asking the right types of questions and giving the right types of answers;
- give effective feedback to students;
- (if applicable) prepare to assess students in a reliable and objective way;
- (if applicable) prepare their first coaching meeting and provide support to groups of students in projects.
Costs: This course is free of charge for TU Delft TAs and staff.
